Originally from Manila, Philippines and currently based in Los Angeles, Josh Evangelista is a DJ, record producer, and remixer. His music falls under the genres of house music, classic disco, and modern disco which is popularly known as nu-disco. Josh is a Certified Pro for Apple Logic Pro X and has previously attended Point Blank Music School where he studied Music Production.

Josh has DJ’ed alongside house music artists such as Grant Nelson, Richard Earnshaw, Groove Junkies, Adam Auburn, and Roy Davis Jr. On the musical side of things, he has collaborated with notable DJ/Producers such as Scott Diaz, Chris Santiago of Santiago & Bushido, Hed Kandi’s Richie Kidd, Rob Hayes from the UK, and funk guitarist Slikk Tim/Gary Gritness. For the past 10 years, Josh has also released several of his own singles including remixed tunes for legendary Philippine musical groups The CompanY and The Itchyworms, as well as indie electronic bands Techy Romantics and Taken By Cars.

Josh was an A&R of WEA/Universal Records in Manila back in the early 90s and was credited for releasing some of the most popular local and foreign tracks in the Philippine dance music market.

Before moving to Los Angeles in 2001, Josh was a DJ of several clubs in Manila such as Venezia, Club Nirvana, Cosmo Bar, and Corner Pocket.

Josh’s past projects include launching in 2014 the multi-record label agency, ToneDef Music, which became one of the biggest dance music label agencies in the Philippines at the time. He also created Bounce Electronic Music & DJ School, Manila’s first electronic music production school. Josh also hosted for 2 years Plip House Radio, a 2-hour radio show broadcasted on Manila’s dance music radio on FM, 107.9 U-Radio. Most recently, he has carved a name in the Philippines as the architect behind Manila’s highly successful, industry-driven electronic music event, the Electronic Music Conference and DJ Expo. Popularly known as EMEX, it is the Philippines’ only educational and leadership platform for electronic music, the clubbing entertainment industries, and related art forms.
